I was most amused by the FDL piece on just why Gibbs is so angry with the left. The thesis is essentially that he can't get angry at people who are always or even frequently wrong, but when they're right...Oooh!!! Made lots and lots of sense.

the Mainstream Media (or MSM as it is known)

As Markos Moulitsas (Founder of the blog “DailyKos”) or, as we affectionately know him “Commandante Kos of the Great Orange Satan” (DK is rendered in orange) has put it out, instead of using “the MSM,” we have been instructed to call it “the tradtional media.” This is because many websites today have daily page views that outnumber the printed newspapers of many city locals. “MSM” used to be an appropriate term back in the days when blogs had a smaller presence on the media landscape. I like to use the term “press corps” myself. When I want to be really clear as to who it is that I’m referring to, I’ll call them “the traditional media press corps.”

Good question…how does Deena Stryker get a national column? I figure if Bristol Palin can land a national speaking tour anything is possible. Please give consideration to using any and all contacts you have to move on the idea.

I’m sorry you won’t be in Idaho this year. We have a visitor from Philippines visiting in June (see my blog) and that week is also Michael’s vacation week. The house must be painted outside….and on and on. I will go East, even for a short trip, if the budget would at all allow.

HI Lydia,

Well, I wish I had a national column, too! How to get one? On the other hand, there are so many voices-in-the-wilderness…..

At least once every day I wonder how I can go on living here, to the extent that this country is the bane of the world and we are unwilling participants in its actions.

The reunion in Idaho isn’t going to happen. I would love to see you. Please let me know if you have plans to come East.

Oh, Deena, I wish I could sit and talk with you about this. For me, it is the worse event in my lifetime. Nothing else compares to the horror taking place in the Gulf of Mexico. For the first time in my life I cannot watch a full news report on TV; I get physically sick.

This post has pearls of wisdom and insight from beginning to end. Again, I find myself wishing that you wrote a national newspaper column tied to a major online news feed.
